Legacy Lewis Makes SSIS History

Legacy Lewis Makes SSIS History
Tanya Olander

As students around Vietnam return to school, one little boy is making SSIS history.

Ask any parent, and they can tell you about their child's first day of school. It is an exciting and historic day in every family's life.

When little Lewis set foot on our campus, not only was it a historic day in his family’s life, but it was a historic day for SSIS. Lewis is our first-ever, second-generation Dragon! In fact, both Lewis’s mother and father graduated from SSIS.

Lewis shares his best Dragon pose as he and parents are greeted by Dr. Moran.

Greeted by Head of School, Lewis’s parents, Anh (‘08) and Anthony (‘08) were excited to send their son to the school where they first met. They both shared that their experience at SSIS was so positive that it was only natural to want the same for their son.

While Lewis’s parents marveled over all the changes our campus has gone through, Lewis was just excited to get going, bouncing up and down exclaiming “I want to go to school!”

Already making friends, Lewis spent his first day enjoying our spacious EC/KG outdoor area (Note: EC and KG students are not required to wear masks, in accordance with government regulations).

And so, as Lewis enters the Early Childhood program in our elementary school and begins his path towards a purposeful life as a global citizen, he also treads a new path at SSIS as the first legacy student ever.

Welcome, Lewis! And welcome to all of our other students, too! We couldn't be happier to have you on campus.
