[G5] Middle School Course Selection Night, March 5

Dear Grade 5 Parents,

We are excited to partner with you as your child prepares to transition to middle school. This week, grade 5 students learned about the upcoming course registration evening, and we invite you and your child to join us:

Rising Grade 6 Middle School Course Night
Thursday, March 5
6:00 pm, Auditorium

This is an important evening for all grade 5 families. You will learn more about middle school and help your child choose their elective courses for grade 6. Please make every effort to attend.

Helpful Resources

To prepare for the evening, please review the following resources with your child:

• 2026-2027 Middle School Program of Studies (Grade 6 required and elective courses are listed on page 5)
• Grade 6 Elective Videos

We encourage you to read about the courses together, watch the videos, and discuss which electives your child may enjoy so they are ready to make their selections on March 5.

World Language Selection

Students who are not enrolled in EAL (English as an Additional Language) or Learning Strategies will select a world language: Mandarin or Spanish. 

In middle school, students begin learning a new language. If your family speaks Mandarin or Spanish at home, your child will automatically be enrolled in the other language. 

We will walk you through the course selection process and answer your questions during the event.
