[G11] Grade 11 Week Without Walls January 19-23, 2026

Dear Grade 11 Students and Parents,

Thank you to those who attended our WWW Information Night yesterday. We were pleased to share more about this year’s learning journey and the ways in which Week Without Walls supports student growth in responsibility, independence, community partnership, and the SSIS Core Values.

To prepare for WWW, we require three items from you:

1. Please read through all the information in this letter carefully
2. Complete the attached WWW Letter of Consent & Permission Form
3. Submit a copy of your child’s passport and visa page (for hotel registration)

Please turn in these items to the High School Office by Tuesday, December 9.

Trip Overview - SSIS Campus (January 19 - 20, 2026)

On Monday and Tuesday, Grade 11 students will be on campus from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During these two days, students will engage in learning experiences that prepare them for their Week Without Walls program, with a strong focus on community partnership and dedicated service. They will also begin reflecting on the role they play in their communities, consider their future pathways beyond SSIS, and continue strengthening the connections within their cohort.

Week Without Walls Trip - Ho Tram (January 21-23, 2026)

From Wednesday to Friday, Grade 11 students will travel to Ho Tram to take part in an immersive community partnership project with a local school. As part of this collaboration, students will design and build a playground, contribute to improving the school’s learning environment, and support a book drive to help expand the school’s library. These hands-on experiences enable students to practice meaningful service, empathy, and teamwork while engaging with members of the local community. In addition to their service learning, students will participate in structured activities that build cooperation, problem-solving, and a sense of shared accomplishment within the grade.

GRADE 11 TRAVEL ITINERARY

Times are approximate and may be adjusted as needed.

Students should arrive at SSIS by 8:00 am the morning of Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

DEPARTURE: Wednesday, January 21

Students will travel by bus from SSIS.

• Depart SSIS by bus at approximately 8:30 am
• Arrive in Ho Tram around 11:30 am

RETURN: Friday, January 23

• Depart Ho Tram at approximately 9:30 am
• Arrive back at SSIS around 12:30 pm
• Students who need transportation home should be picked up at 12:30 pm

Packing List:

Here is the complete packing list. This list will also be shared with students during Advisory and sent to parents again closer to the trip.

Please note: 

• Students should not bring laptops or iPads.
• Students only need minimal VND for occasional snacks.
• All meals and program expenses are prepaid and covered by tuition.

Medical Information and Medications:

Please ensure that your child’s Magnus Health profile is fully updated with all medical needs, allergies, and dietary restrictions.

• All health and dietary concerns must be communicated by Friday, December 12, so our partner organization can make appropriate accommodations
• Two iSOS nurses will accompany all WWW trips, alongside trained AsiaMotions staff
• Students who take prescription medications must bring them in original packaging inside a labeled ziplock bag, with the prescription and parent declaration, per SSIS policy.

Student Behavior and Conduct Expectations

During WWW, all SSIS expectations as stated in the HS Handbook apply, both on and off campus. 

Students are expected to:

• Submit all required forms on time
• Wear their SSIS HOUSE shirt (colored t-shirt) on travel days (the first and the last day of the trip).
• Participate fully and positively in all activities
• Follow the SSIS dress code, including for swimwear
• Act safely and appropriately at all times
• Respect SSIS leaders, AsiaMotions staff, and community partners
• Listen carefully and follow all instructions
• Use electronics only as agreed with trip leaders
• Care for the local environment (“take only pictures, leave only footsteps”)
• Be inclusive, kind, and supportive of others
• Communicate clearly with chaperones about concerns or needs
• Respect curfews and remain in assigned rooms
• Avoid all prohibited substances (alcohol, tobacco, drugs)
• Follow all safety protocols from SSIS staff, AsiaMotions facilitators, nurses, and site managers

If expectations are not followed:

1. Students will have an opportunity to discuss their actions with the trip leader.
2. If determined to be necessary, the HS Associate Principal, HS Principal, or Head of School will be contacted.
3. Parents may be required to pick up their child early (at the family’s expense).
4. School consequences may apply upon return to SSIS.

Please review and sign the Permission Form, and submit it along with a copy of your child’s passport and visa by Tuesday, December 9.
