Dear Parents or Guardians of Grade 8 and 9 Students,
Thank you to all the Grade 8 and 9 parents and students who joined our HS Academic Pathways presentation on Tuesday, October 29. For those unable to attend, we invite you to review the presentation slides (here or below) and explore all questions submitted by attendees on our Padlet.
During the evening, we outlined the diverse academic pathways available as students enter and progress through high school. SSIS offers an incredible array of learning opportunities, allowing students to explore a wide range of subjects through distinct curriculum pathways, each with unique approaches to learning and assessment.
Looking ahead, our High School Program of Studies will be published in December before the holiday break. This will be followed by a series of course selection sessions to guide students through their options before course requests are submitted in February 2025.
A reminder for Grade 10 students and parents: please join us for an in-depth IB Night on Tuesday, November 5, at 6 PM in the auditorium. This event will focus on your specific questions regarding the IB Diploma and IB Course pathways. We look forward to seeing you there!
As High School Principal, it is my pleasure to share with you an upcoming opportunity to learn about the academic program on offer in the high school. On Tuesday, October 29 at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium, you and your child are invited to an important information session about the academic pathway options (AP, IB, SSIS courses) available to your children in their upcoming years of high school.
As one of the few schools in Ho Chi Minh City to offer both Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the full International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), in addition to our own wide selection of SSIS courses, our students have unique opportunities to develop their interests and passions in preparation for their best-fit universities anywhere in the world.
This important session will provide in-depth information about all of the academic opportunities, to ensure students are prepared to make the best and most informed choices when making course selections for the upcoming school year. Students will make their course selections for the next school year in February.
To ensure your child understands the options available and can make the most informed decisions, please plan to attend this important session on Tuesday, October 29.
All my very best,
Ms. Jennifer Mendes
