[EC-G5] ES Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-ups Open September 25

Dear ES Parents and Guardians,

Parent-teacher conferences are an important part of your child’s education at SSIS. Each family is expected to schedule a meeting with their child’s teacher. Please read the details below to help you prepare and sign up. 

Why Do We Have Conferences?

Parent-teacher conferences help us work together for your child’s success at SSIS. During the conference, we will:

• Review your child’s academic progress
• Talk about your child’s social and emotional growth
• Set goals for your child
• Share ways to support your child in reaching their goals

NOTE: Students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 should join the conference with their parents. Students in EC - Grade 2 should not attend conferences. (See “Childcare” below.)

When Are Conferences?

Thursday, October 16 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Friday, October 17 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Each conference lasts 20 minutes. Please be on time. 

Specialist Teachers

You do not need to book a separate time with your child’s specialist teachers (Art, Dance, PE, Music, Drama, EAL, Learning Support, Library, Vietnamese Studies). They will be in their rooms on October 16 and 17 during these times:

• 8:15 - 9:45 am
• 10:15 - 11:45 am
• 12:45 - 2:15 pm
• 2:45 - 4:15 pm

How to Sign Up 

• Log in to your SchoolsBuddy account.
• Sign-ups open Thursday, September 25 at 9:00 am.
• Sign-ups close Thursday, October 9 at 9:00 am. 
• Booking is “first come, first served.”  Please sign up early. 

If you cannot attend on October 16 or 17, contact your child’s classroom teacher to ask if other arrangements can be made. All elementary school students are expected to have a conference.

Translation 

Our Teaching Assistants (TAs) can help translate in Vietnamese. For other languages, please arrange your own translation services, if needed. 

Childcare

• We are offering supervised childcare for school-age children (EC - Grade 2) during your meeting time. Please bring them to the ES playground 10 minutes before your meeting time. 
• Please pick up your child promptly after your conference. 
• If you have children under the age of 3, please arrange your own childcare for them.
