- High School
We have a philosophy at SSIS. It is that what we learn, should be shared with the greater community. When we demonstrate leadership in an area, others should also benefit.
One of the many ways that SSIS demonstrates leadership in Vietnam in preparing young people for the future, is through our strong emphasis on teaching coding, building and programming robots.
This past weekend, one of the two team coaches, Evan Weinberg, collaborated with SSIS students to share their experiences with other schools in a VEX Robotics Open House, held on the SSIS campus. Attending were the Lawrence Ting School, BIS, ISHCMC, ISHCMC AAVN, the EMASI school, and Concordia Hanoi.
We could not be prouder to be sharing the knowledge we have accumulated in the two seasons that we've participated in the VEX Robotics Competition. And in January 2020, SSIS will go on to host the first-ever Vietnam VRC National Championship. (Learn more about VRC National Championships, here).
This is truly an exciting time in the school’s evolution!
“Don’t ask a student what she wants to be when she grows up, ask her what problem she wants to solve…then give her the environment to build the knowledge, skills, and abilities she needs to solve that problem.” - Jaime Casap
