Frequently Asked Questions

SSIS uses a rolling admissions policy; however, spaces are limited. Students seeking admission in August should begin the process in the preceding January. Applications will be accepted throughout the school year and admissions is granted based on space availability.

SSIS aims to provide applicants and their families with a timely answer once all of the required documents are provided to the admissions department and the required testing is completed.

All students applying to SSIS must either complete an in-house assessment or provide the results of standardized tests which are not more than one academic year old. More information about the type of testing can be found in the section Applying to SSIS.

Students attend school 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday. After 3:00 pm, however, there are often optional athletics, clubs and after school activities.

Our teachers represent 27 different countries but the majority come from the USA and Canada.

The majority of our teachers have masters degrees and a minimum of two years successful teaching experience. Teachers must be certified or licensed to teach by their home countries.

Over 80% of our student population lives in District 7. SSIS does provide busing for a fee to most districts within Ho Chi Minh City.

Morning snacks for middle and high schools as well as hot lunches for the whole school, are offered by our catering company, The Caterers, who also run our school cafeteria and high school kiosk. The menus and fees are published in their online web portal. Students may also bring home lunch, and microwaves are available for those that wish to reheat food.

Yes. The SSIS school uniform can be purchased at our school store. Occasionally there are themed dress days during the school year.

SSIS has more than 1300 students representing over 45 different nationalities. A nationality cap ensures a high level of diversity and true international experience in the classroom.
