The SSIS Dragons are known throughout the region for both their ability, dedication and sense of fair play. Our athletics program seeks to instill in students a respect for elements of fitness and skill that are integral to developing a lifelong interest in sports and fitness. The ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and a demonstration of respect for the efforts of team members, opponents, coaches and officials are expected from all Dragons.
SSIS has a no-cut policy with A, B and C teams in many sports in all divisions. This means that any child who comes out for a team and is committed to practices has the opportunity to play. We leverage our outstanding facilities to ensure that all teams get the chance to participate in games and tournaments at levels which match their abilities.
We seek to promote:
- Teamwork and cooperation to achieve a common goal
- Skill development and an awareness of one’s talents and limitations
- Respect for the talents and abilities of oneself and others
- An understanding of the benefits of constructive criticism
- Pride in the accomplishments of oneself and one’s team
Throughout the year our students compete against other international schools in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding countries in basketball, volleyball, soccer, badminton, swimming, cross country and track & field. Please be sure to check the SSIS Link athletics section on a regular basis for schedules and updates on each team and try to take the chance to watch our Dragon's in action.
