Graduation at SSIS

Graduates of SSIS held their commencement ceremony in the auditorium of the Ferdindand Tsien building on Friday, May 29th. There were flowers and plants decorating the room and it created a formal yet welcoming atmosphere. Graduates, Noah Kang and Tra My Le represented the class of 2009 and gave speeches filled with memories, humor and hopes for the future. Bill Johnstone, retiring Canadian Consul General, was the guest speaker and encouraged the students to make a difference in the lives of others. Staff member, Mark Isley, addressed the crowd with a similar, inspiring message. A reception was held in the cafeteria following the ceremony and a poem was presented to the school on a plaque as a gift from the class of 2009.
