Grade 5 Students to Buu Long Park

The SSIS 5th grade classes, working with Embers Asia, had an exciting and eventful overnight camping trip to Buu Long Park in Dong Nai Province. The trip focused on team building, trust, and leadership skills where students were challenged to work in groups and individually. Through a variety of experiences students had an opportunity of improve their interpersonal relationships through outdoor activities in a fun and safe environment. Students were given the opportunity to abseil down a 30 meter rock face and fly down a 100 meter zip line. Other activities included a night hike, fishing, boating, sketching and poetry writing, campfire songs, and numerous team building activities. The natural setting of Buu Long Park also allowed us to reinforce the concepts from our "Ecosystems" unit completed last semester. For many students this was their first overnight camping experience.
