Grade 5 Students Overnight Field Trip to Buu Long

As part of the elementary field trip program, the 5th graders had an overnight camping trip to Buu Long Park, just outside of Ho Chi Minh City. There were numerous curriculum connections including poetry and sketching, ecosystems and animal studies, and creative and reflective writing. However, this trip had a strong focus on team work, leadership, cooperative learning situations, and building individual responsibility. SSIS worked closely with Embers Asia to organize games and activities, including zip lining and abseiling, in a safe and fun environment. This trip was an excellent intermediary phase in our 5th graders transition to the middle school environment.
