Warranty and Insurance

If you have purchased the recommended Lenovo laptop through SSIS, you are covered by a Three Year On-Site warranty, Damage Insurance, and access to the Loaner Laptop service. This ensures that you always have access to all the educational technology that SSIS provides.

Lenovo Three Year On-site Warranty

The Lenovo three year comprehensive warranty covers all hardware repairs that are a result of regular use. During this time a loaner laptop will be provided by SSIS to ensure that the student can participate in instruction (parents will automatically receive notification when a laptop loaner has been issued). The loaner laptop may be taken home but must be returned upon completion of the laptop repair. Most repairs will be conducted by certified Lenovo engineers or by SSIS technicians on-site, the normal turn-around time will be within 24 hours. A summary of the repair will be logged on the laptop tracking file stored on the laptop to track all repair and maintenance.

The battery is covered by a one year replacement warranty. SSIS has secured a competitive price for replacement batteries should the need arise.

What’s covered?

  • Damage from drops and falls under normal use

  • Damage from electrical surges

  • Liquid spills

  • LCD damage

What’s not covered?

  • External peripherals

  • Accessories not installed by Lenovo at time of purchase

  • Batteries

Damage Insurance does not cover theft or loss, intentional fire, cosmetic or pre-existing damage or damage resulting from misuse or use under abnormal operating conditions.

Repair and Support Q&A

What if I have a problem with my laptop hardware, operating system or applications during the school year?

SSIS will have a service window where students may take the laptop. This service window will be staffed from 7:30am - 4:00pm. SSIS technicians will be able to provide first line troubleshooting and diagnostics. If more help is needed, the student will be provided with a loaner laptop until repairs can be completed.

What if school is not in session?

The IT service center is closed on national holidays and weekends, however it is staffed throughout the year. If problems occur during the weekend a phone number will be provided for support by Lenovo Vietnam. The IT Service window is open during the Summer vacation.

The Lenovo three year Carry-in International warranty:

The Lenovo Carry-in International warranty covers all hardware repairs that are a result of regular use. A national hotline (depending on country) is available for users to contact providing information on where the nearest Lenovo repair center is located.

How do I get my laptop repaired when I am no longer at SSIS?

Repair services are available worldwide directly from Lenovo. Procedures for accessing repair services are described in details on Lenovo Vietnam’s website.

SSIS is not able to provide repair services or loaner computers for students no longer attending the school.
