Physical Education Goals

At each grade level, the goals are to educate the whole child (in spirit, mind, and body) and to teach the students a lifelong appreciation for physical fitness, health, and sports. We believe that a physically educated person has learned skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities, is physically fit, does participate regularly in physical activity, and values physical activity and its contribution to a healthy lifestyle.

All students from pre-school through fifth grade have physical education twice every six day cycle. All lessons have a fitness component. Students learn locomotor skills, gross motor and fine motor skills, fitness games, body awareness activities, balance activities, rules, strategies and appropriate behaviors for sports, games, and activities. Swimming is an integral and required part of the physical education program.
