Is there an application deadline?

SSIS uses a rolling admissions policy; however, spaces are limited. Students seeking admission in August should begin the process in the preceding January. Applications will be accepted throughout the school year and admissions is granted based on space availability.

How long does the admissions process take?

SSIS aims to provide applicants and their families with a timely answer once all of the required documents are provided to the admissions department and the required testing is completed.

Is testing required as part of the admissions process?

All students applying to SSIS must either complete an in-house assessment or provide the results of standardized tests which are not more than one academic year old. More information about the type of testing can be found in the section Applying to SSIS

What are the school hours?

The school day begins at 8am and ends at 3pm Monday - Friday.

Where do your teachers come from?

Our teachers represent 12 different countries but the majority come from the USA and Canada.

What are your teachers' qualifications ?

SSIS normally hires teachers with a Master's Degree and at least two years of successful teaching experience. Teachers must also be certified or licensed to teach by their home countries.

Where do most of your students live and is there a school bus service?

Over 80% of our student population lives in District 7. SSIS does provide busing for a fee to most districts within HCMC.

Do you provide a lunch?

Our school cafeteria and high school kiosk are run by the Caterers who provide morning snacks for middle and high schools as well as hot lunches for the whole school. The menus are published in the eNews. Meals are optional and fee based. Microwaves are available for students who bring home lunch.

Do the students wear uniforms?

Yes, SSIS does have a school uniform which can be purchased at the school store. Occasionally there are themed dress days throughout the year.

What is the nationality breakdown of your student population?

The student population of 1000 represents over 35 different nationalities. A nationality cap of ensures a high level of diversity and true international experience in the classroom.
